Job Title: Property Manager
Location: Canton, OH 


Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operation and maintenance needs of our residential property. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of property management and maintenance principles, Fair Housing regulations, and customer service excellence. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining property standards, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and managing administrative tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, maintenance and general repairs, and tenant relations.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Ensure properties comply with local building codes and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to attract new tenants.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Handle tenant inquiries and resolve issues promptly to foster positive relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant information, lease agreements, and maintenance requests using property management software.
  • Collaborate with approved vendors when necessary to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of the property.
  • Prepare reports on occupancy rates, rental income, and property performance for management review.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of property management, including budgeting and expense tracking.
  • Ensure timely collection of rent and follow up on delinquencies.
  • Screen potential tenants and conduct background checks.
  • Negotiate lease agreements and ensure proper documentation.
  • Handle legal matters related to evictions or lease violations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and legal purposes.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds.
  • This role requires a broad range of skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general mechanical knowledge, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Tasks can include fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, and maintaining landscaping.
  • Proven experience in property management or a related field is required.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills with a focus on exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with real estate administrative tasks and legal administrative processes is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in office software applications and property management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants, staff, and team members.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including single disc, buffers, vacuums, carpet spotters, waxers, portable carpet cleaner, and dry vac.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in property management or a related field.

Certifications: Property management certifications (e.g., CPM, ARM) are a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
